Spend the day enjoying artisanal goods first-hand by visiting the local Farmer’s Market. The fair prices and true cultural experience are great additions to picking up fresh snacks for the week and locally crafted souvenirs.

 

Healthy Vacation tip-5VACATION TIP #5: Get creative!
You don’t have to specifically book a place that has a fitness center to stay active. In fact, you’re likely to be just as active by enjoying local activities such as walking the boardwalk, biking with family, swimming with friends, or even horseback riding. The options are endless so live a little and save the gym workouts for home.

 

Vacation tip 6VACATION TIP #6: Preview online!
Let’s face it, you’ll be dining out on vacation and there’s no reason to feel guilty if you do your research beforehand. Hop online before you head out and preview the menu options. You may realize that the restaurant wasn’t what you thought at all, or perhaps they have the perfect options for you. Either way, you’ll know what you’re walking into and you’ll enjoy it even more.

Carrot Cake Bread

Remember growing up, helping my mom with baking on a Saturday afternoon. The smell of fresh baking whether the favourite chocolate chip cookies or fresh baked cakes, breads etc.
But now a days, the baking we did back then wold not always be concidered healthy. With more awareness about food allergies, health conditions, we all tend to look more to the healthier side of baking.
Today I’ll be sharing a Gluten Free Carrot Cake Bread. This is a recipe your whole family will enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup light brown sugar
3/4 cup raisins
4 medium carrots, peeled and finely grated
2 eggs
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
3 teaspoons fat-free milk
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly coat an 8- x 4-inch loaf pan with cooking spray, and line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; mix well.
Stir in brown sugar, raisins, carrots, eggs, and oil; mix well. Pour mixture into prepared pan.
Bake 55 to 60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire rack and peel off parchment paper.
Let cool completely.
In a small bowl, whisk confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth. Pour over cake and slice when ready to serve.

Vacation Tip -1
VACATION TIP #1: Stock the kitchen!
Take advantage of booking a room with a kitchenette and cook your own meals. You’ll save a ton of money by stocking up meals from the local grocery store which is likely to sell local favorites to the area while listing their nutritional facts. Also, take note of what appliances are stocked as blenders are great ways to make delicious smoothies that will likely cost you three times as much if you were to buy them instead.

VACATION TIP #2: Enjoy the grub!
It’s ok to splurge a little on local fare you can’t get elsewhere. Don’t go too overboard, but don’t depress yourself, either. Go ahead and enjoy the world’s best ice cream, just make sure it’s a single scoop and eat consciously for other meals.

VACATION TIP #3: Pack it up!
Feel free to brown-bag your favorite fruits, protein bars and other healthy snacks so you’re not stuck with unhealthy meal options which plague most tourist destinations.

Avoid this Curcumin?

Curcumin-skin-pigmentation-diy-home-remediesTurmeric has long been revered as a spice, dye, and remedy to promote health and wellness. While turmeric is perhaps best known for its spicy flavor and as the key ingredient in curry powders, it’s also used to add color and as a preservative and has a long history for health benefits.
The majority of the benefits can be attributed to curcumin, an antioxidant that gives turmeric its yellow pigment. Curcumin is the most abundant of turmeric’s curcuminoid complex, which make up only about 3 – 5% of turmeric. So, while turmeric contains curcumin, it’s found in relatively very small amounts.
In addition, the potential health benefits of curcumin are limited by poor bioavailability. If you don’t absorb it, you can’t reap the expected health benefits. As a result, several strategies have been used to improve absorption, and while some have shown promise, a recent well-controlled study demonstrated a new water-soluble formulation (CurcuWIN®) resulted in 46 times greater absorption than standard curcumin powder.
It’s also important to know that many turmeric/curcumin extracts contain residues (above the established safety limit) of the highly toxic solvent “EDC,” a known carcinogen. So, you’ll want to choose a highly absorbable form of curcumin that’s free from this solvent!

Health Benefits of Curcumin

With over 3,000 published studies, curcumin’s one of the most well-researched herbs. It has antioxidant and antimicrobial effects (to help ward of bacteria, fungi, and viruses), yet, it’s best known for its ability to promote a healthy inflammatory response. Curcumin’s been shown to help ensure levels of several key inflammatory markers are in a normal, healthy range.
Not surprisingly, curcumin has been shown to contribute to a variety of health benefits, such as:
*Brain Health, including supporting brain function, cognitive function, mood, and mental health.
*Heart Health: by increasing antioxidant capacity, promoting healthy levels of inflammatory markers, and helping maintain healthy blood flow.
*Joint Health: It’s perhaps best known for helping ease joint discomfort and stiffness. One 3-month trial found supplementing with curcumin daily reduced joint discomfort by 58% (vs. 2% for the placebo group). In an 8-month trial, curcumin led to a 93% reduction in joint discomfort (vs. a 12% reduction in the placebo group).
*Antioxidant: By scavenging free radicals and inducing an antioxidant response, curcumin has also been shown to have a protective effect on the mitochondria, which are responsible for energy production.
Curcumin = Solid Gold?
In short, both scientific research and real-world results suggest there are numerous health benefits of curcumin. However, did you know that certain “healthy” foods and spices can actually DAMAGE your DNA and accelerate aging in your body? Age spots, wrinkles, saggy skin, joint stiffness, decreased mobility, memory issues, low energy, increased fatigue, hormonal decline, weight gain… the list goes on and on.
Don’t fall victim to these nightmare age-accelerating foods any longer!

How can I use Apple Cider Vinegar to Lose Weight or for Healthy Well Being?
Yes Apple Cider Vinegar can be used for healthy weight loss.   There are many ways you can use it.   Can use it in your cooking replacing regular vinegar, can put it in water with other infusions such as cucumbers, strawberries or other berries,   Can also add it to Smoothies.  There are many recipes online that you can find on how to use the Apple Cider vinegar to help losing weight successfully.  
If you download the E-Report from Joel @ BioTrust Nutrition, he shows you 7 Household items, including Apple Cider Vinegar, with the benefits, as well as ways to use them.   I find all his reports are very useful as well as helpful.
I did a search for you with the different uses of Apple Cider Vinegar,  and found this at VegKitchen, http://www.vegkitchen.com/tips/apple-cider-vinegar-diet/ that may help you.   
Like most diet supplements, drinks etc,  including your apple cider drink,  is best to take approximately 30 minutes to an hour before your main meals.   Generally can make an Apple Cider Drink 2- 4 times a day.  
For recipes on ways to use your Apple Cider Vinegar:
Here is one I found online:
Ingredients:
1 glass of warm or hot water (12-16 oz.)
2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar.
2 tablespoon lemon juice.
½-1 teaspoon ground ginger.
¼ teaspoon cinnamon.
1 dash cayenne pepper.
1 teaspoon raw, local honey (optional)
There are many others, just have to search.  Most healthy Blogs, Healthy Food recipe sights,  even allrecipes.com or food.com have healthy recipes.  Paleohacks.com;  dailyburn.com to name a few.
