Slow Cooker Carne Asada

I love sharing the recipes I obtain from the Warrior, as Katie always ensures me that they are healthy and wholesome meals!  

I recently came across this delictible dish, Slow Cooker Carne Asada, and thought you too would enjoy it!  

Quick tip: You can always add shredded lettuce or cabbage and make tostadas!

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 6-8 hours | Serves: 8


2 pounds grass-fed flank steak or skirt steak

2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice

2 limes, juiced and zested

6 garlic cloves

¼ cup coconut aminos

½ cup cilantro

1 teaspoon cumin

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon oregano

1 teaspoon chili powder

Freshly ground pepper, to taste

Optional for serving: tomatoes, cilantro, shredded cheese, sour cream, cabbage, etc.


1.) In a blender, combine all ingredients except for the meat and puree until smooth. Place the meat in the slow cooker, pour the sauce over the top and cook on Low for 6-8 hours, or until fork tender. Serve with any toppings of choice.
