Losing with Valentus

In 2008, I decided to quite smoking after on and off battle with quitting.   Then came the fast climb with the after smoking binge and weight gain. With the past few yrs, attempting to lose weight, then gain back just as much,  I came across a page for a support group for weight loss support.  I went online and read up about the product – Valentus.

I friend and old high school mate got me in touch with the great resources and sites to which I myself could check out and sign up!
Valentus 12/24 Lifestyle Plan gives you the power to control you healthy lifestyle with a well balanced diet.  Plus it helps to curve your appetite so you eat less. So I decided to try it out.  I have been on the SlimRoast coffee in the morning now for about a week.  Am finding am sleeping better, not have the severe pain I usually got from my Fibromyalgia.  I am also eating healthy, without the cravings and eating proper proportions.   Thanks to Valentus and eating healthy, am on my way to a New and Better me.  The Picture was taken on October 12, 2016 just before I started on Valentus.
Here I am almost 3 weeks later and down 3 lbs!

Chicken Pot Pie Bubble-Up Bake

Ingredients
3 cups shredded deli rotisserie chicken (from 2-lb chicken)
2 cans (10 1/2 oz each) cream of chicken soup with herbs
3 cups frozen vegetables (such as peas, carrots, corn, green beans or a mixture)
2 cups shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese blend (8 oz)
1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Flaky Layers refrigerated Butter Tastin’™ biscuits
2 tablespoons butter, melted
Directions
Heat oven to 375°F. Lightly spray 13×9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
In large bowl, stir together 3 cups shredded deli rotisserie chicken (from 2-lb chicken) and 2 cans (10 1/2 oz each) cream of chicken soup with herbs. Add 3 cups frozen vegetables and 2 cups shredded Colby-Monterrey Jack cheese blend (8 oz); mix until combined. Pour into baking dish; spread in even layer.
Separate 1 can (16.3 oz) Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Flaky Layers refrigerated Butter Tastin’™ biscuits into 8 biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters; place in medium bowl. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons melted butter; toss to coat. Spread biscuit pieces evenly over chicken mixture.
Bake 20 to 22 minutes or until biscuit pieces are thoroughly baked and center of casserole is bubbly.

Caramelized Bacon, Brown Sugar & Balsamic Asparagus!!

Looking to get Healthy?  Something a lot of us are trying, but sometimes the foods we can eat are not so tasty by themselves.  Just by adding a little to the recipe, you can spice up your meal!
Not all of us may like asparagus, even though it is concidered one of the healthy vegetables.   Here is a great recipe I found that gives Asparagus and Bacon a whole new way to enjoy your meal yet keep the healthy eating habits in tact!

1 bunch of Asparagus — make sure you get the skinny ones (they cook quicker and are more tender)
8-10 slices bacon — I wrapped 5 asparagus pieces with 1 slice of bacon)
1 TBSP balsamic vinegar
2 TBSP brown sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
Wrap 5 pieces of asparagus with 1 strip of bacon, wrapping fairly tightly
Heat electric griddle (or you can do in skillet on stove) to medium high. Place asparagus packets on griddle. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and cook approximately 5 minutes on each side (being careful when flipping to keep packets together) until bacon is brown and asparagus are almost tender. Sprinkle with balsamic vinegar and brown sugar and cook for 1-2 minutes then flip on other side and cook until caramelized and tender. Cooking times will vary according to size of asparagus and heat will need to be varied accordingly! Hope you like this as much as we did!
